Fund Raising Event - Sponsored Skate 2009

The sponsored skate event held on the 6th June 2009 was a fantastic sussess, many thanks to all the people who sponsored our club members and those who took part and supported the event.

The winners of the sponsored skate was the BLUE team, well done to Keiran, Ryan and Charlie with a total of 84 laps.

Well done to all the other teams who took part.

The winner of the PENALTY SHOOT-OUT compitition was Alex. A Big thank you to Darren Whiteley of Manchester Roller Hockey Club for agreeing to take part.

The winner of the Reno World Championship stick was Tom, a big thank you to everyone who sponsored him.

And finally, the winner of the PARENTS vs CHILDREN match and current holders of the Challenge Cup are....

Spen Valley Flyers Roller Hockey Club

Challenge Trophey - 29/11/08

On Saturday 29th November 2008, the new Spen Valley Flyers Roller Hockey Club hosted its first ever tournament, the SVFRHC Challenge Trophy. Five teams competed for the trophy, with Manchester RHC under 11's being the eventual winners.

1st Place - Manchester RHC (under 11's) - 8 Points

2nd Place - Spen Valley Flyers RHC (under 9's) - 6 Points

3rd Place - Spen Valley Flyers RHC (under 10's - 5 Points

4th Place - Plymouth RHC (under 11's) - 3 Points

5th Place - Spen Valley Flyers RHC (under 11's) - 1 Point

With the revival of the COCK 'O' THE NORTH Challege Cup taking place on Saturday 8th November 2008, between Manchester RHC and Middlesbrough RHC, we thought that it would be a nice idea to show some images of past roller hockey teams based in the North of England.

THIRD TASTER SESSION 30th AUGUST 2008

The third taster session at Whitcliffe Mount Roller Hockey Academy on Saturday 30th August 2008 was a great success, with lots of local children attending to learn more about the sport of roller hockey.

Again, special thanks to Manchester Roller Hockey Club and Halifax Roller Hockey Club for supporting the session, and a big thank to Ben Davies of SMARTFotos for the photography.

SECOND TASTER SESSION 23rd AUGUST 2008

The second taster session at Whitcliffe Mount Roller Hockey Academy held on Saturday 23rd August 2008 attracted an increased number of beginners wishing to try roller hockey.

Keith Allen - Presedient of the National Roller Hockey Association, also attended the 2nd taster session and voiced his supported for the Whitcliffe Mount Roller Hockey Academy.

Again, special thanks to Manchester RHC and Halifax RHC for supporting the event.

FIRST TASTER SESSION 16th AUGUST 2008

The first taster session at Whitcliffe Mount Roller Hockey Academy held on Saturday 16th August 2008 was very successful. The event began with an exhibition game between Manchester Roller Hockey Club and Halifax Roller Hockey Club, resulting in a Manchester victory 4-1. A taster training session was then held for children wishing to try the sport for the first time.

Special thanks to Manchester Roller Hockey Club, Halifax Roller Hockey Club, Alice Billington Cliff, Isaac Darwent Black, Zachary Cunningham, Anton Byron, Aiden Lawler, Georgia Collerton, William Herbert and Ryan Davies, (and their parents for supporting WMRHA).
